USB Type A
This is the most common type of USB. Most likely, you would see type A USB ports in host devices and almost every USB cable. USB type A only allows one-sided connection as it only works when cables perfectly insert with these ports. That means USB Type A is not reversible.
USB Type B
There are no USB type B ports in host devices. We could rarely see these ports in receptor devices like printers, scanners, and some older digital cameras and external hard drives. Type B ports also only allow one-sided connections. That means USB Type B is also not reversible.
USB Type C
Type C is the newest design officially announced in 2014. This is the most evolving and extensive USB type among electronic device users and in the market. So, let’s discuss more Type C.
